1980s: The beginning
TLF began its operations in the golden decades of 1980s by Mohammed Al-Twaijri in a small office in Kuwait City. He left his job as general in-house counsel in one of the major oil companies to form his firm. During the early years, TLF built a reputation in the areas of business and corporate matters related to the debt and loans litigation. TLF primarily represented banks and telecom corporations. An important step in the firm's history occurred in 1988 when two leading retired judges joined the team increasing the capability of our litigation practice. The 1990s: Stable Growth
TLF grew steadily by adding top graduates with unique and diverse backgrounds. Another important development in the firm's history transpired with the firm establishing a practice handling cross-border transactions, assisting foreign and local businesses to enter into joint ventures, as well assisting foreign corporations to do business successfully in Kuwait. By middle of the decade, the firm had grown to fifty professionals. The firm started using the brand TLF as abbreviation. The 21st century: Expansion Era

TLF continual development of a broad base of practice areas has enabled the firm to attract an outstanding group of clients including multi-national corporations, and a wide range of publicly traded corporations, and leading family-owned businesses. The practice of the TLF Firm evolved in 2008 as a result of the Global Financial Crisis.
